The year is ending on a high. The market never looked better. The stocks are doing good. The economy is bouncing back. Giving lot of hope for the New Year. i would like to just end this year by listing down some things that i wish to do or continue doing next year( i would call it my resolutions but you know that word comes with such a finality in it....depresses me)
1) Never visit the loo alone at office: i have had too many impromptu meetings, status updates, general discussion on a range of topics from public health, politics, movie stars to the Liberhan commission.( watch out for my next blog article " scatology and the indian mind") . enough is enough. come on guys, can we stick to the main purpose that such a room was discovered instead of making it the next cool hangout to discuss stuff. The alternative that i have for avoiding such loo breaks is bit worse, as the bay starts to stink after a while :)
2) Quit Facebook : i have already successfully managed to wean myself away from Orkut..its been quite some time since i even logged in. Great way to discover just how popular i am. i got a total of 29 friend requests after i had posted the message that i am quitting. no no no...thats not the measure of my cult status...its the total lack of mayhem and hysteria from friends and fans telling me not to quit..( i got two requests in total...come on...even Bin Laden would have got more than that if he said he was quitting). So the next thing i am planning to do is Quit from Facebook and see if there is any reaction in that at front at least...( ok i heard that...dont sigh like that...what's that..FB's stock went up? ..hmmm)
3) Stop wasting time explaining things to morons: This is something i have as top priority...what? you want to know how? why? ...the how is easy..just delay the conversation. WILL EXPLAIN LATER :)
4) Make my blog more public : a must do for the New year... get my blog out there..not that i think i talk about interesting stuff or that iam even remotely funny...ok ok you got me...i am just looking at the monetization aspects of it :) so expect to see promotion of my blog like never before...special recruitment drives, marketing campaigns, TV ads, Radio ADs, banners, posters....all this i wish to do but wouldnt be able to...the best that i can do right now is to follow the ageless marketing gimmick....scratching my blog address in public toilets...jus below the usual satish-loves-sita scribblings :)
5) Be more open : this is actually based upon feedback that i have received from people around me. they have urged me to be more open, communicative....oh god..they dont know what they are in for..have mercy on their souls. The only thing i have to say to this is that everybody lies about themselves but it never really matters as noone is really listening...
6) Do things myself: never ask for help if i can do it myself. I have possibly discovered a parallel universe where everbody is ready to help or available to work in a past time...how many times have we heard this" you should have told me...i could have done it for you..i was free only...Just now got assigned to this piece of work" Just wish i had a time machine to go back and trip up these liars
7) Learn to Quit : have to stop being pig-headed about things and learn to say i quit when i have to..it is infinitely better to have horrible endings rather than horrors without end.

very interesting post manoj... a dash of humour, a dash of reality, few digs. As usual your style of writing is something I ADORE and something I would love to adopt, though not successfully... keep writing... Don't ever stop. For me it's like coming up from inside the water for some fresh air :)
