No matter how many times I fall, I always get up….I am a FOOL !!!

The last part of the above phrase is my own addendum to possibly a very good motivating quote. The truth and honesty of the first part cannot be argued but neither can the second part. Sometimes in life, it is worth knowing when to give up..when to throw in the towel…when to let go…when to give in.

When faced with a situation, however dire it may be, the learned ones amongst us always advice us to never give up, to try, try and try again. Sometimes they go about motivating to the next failed venture as well by saying “failures are the stepping stones to success”.

CRAP !!!!

In this time and with the way the world is moving at such a rapid pace, you cant stop to smell the roses. The only thing you can do is get rich enough to have a secretary who can do it for you and hope that flowers will be still around by the time you retire. When there is so much work to be done and so many “friends and peers” who are waiting in the aisle to clap and glow when you fail, can you really afford to fail.

The new age has brought with it luxury and unimaginable pleasures but it has taken along with it simple joys. Like the joy of learning from one’s mistake. Like learning within a team. Kudos to the team building efforts and activities by the company but I am sorry to say what we need aren’t those hand-holding sessions but rather lessons in surviving in the corporate jungle. Guerrilla warfare among the concrete high-rises.

This is no doubt a cynical view on the corporate world but trust me..this comes from a person who has worked in various posts and positions within various companies and know how it is out there in reality. (Presently I am working in a company that doesn’t seem to have much of these activities... at least outwardly.)

The old adage” keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer” seems to be a bit out of date. If Sun-tzu was alive today it would be something like”keep your friends close…your enemies are already working with you…you may need your friends to carry you home.”

DISCLAIMER: this piece of text was not intended to hurt any of the sentiments of my colleagues. No resemblance to any person, living or dead, working with me or other was meant to be the target of this diatribe. If it has hurt you in any way …..then you know that it is you I am talking about

In tamil there is a phrase "vishwamithra srishti"...Sage vishwamithra is noted for his vision. He can think or do something which is unpredictable but second nature to him...He built a seperate heaven for thrisangu, just because he was denied his stay in heaven. I have always sensed a rebel in you. But, this time I strongly agree with you. There is no time to cry over spilt milk..got to keep looking forward and keep treading the path of success.but when success finally comes we cannot afford the time to gloat over it. Time for the next target and next success.Flowers will be there, a child's smile will be there. the song of nightingale will also be there but as we turn old whether our vision, hearing or sense of smell will be there is another question. What do you say???

perfectly captured what i meant. will we have those senses with us when we get the time to use them? so my advice would be to get there at a point where u can enjoy them or atleast get perverse pleasure by seeing someone do it for you...
