To err or to HR!!!
This one was too tough to resist…to all my friends in the HR domain across companies I apologize but this one was too sweet to let go off.
And I am not lying if I say that there can’t be a single working professional who doesn’t carry some sort of grudge with the HR department of their company. So what I did was do a bit of snooping on the Web and came up with all these wonderful insights as to how “human” the HR team can get.
As VP of HR at a hospital, there was a nurse who was evaluated on delivering meds, and told her supervisor she “followed what the voices in her head told her to do”.
After finishing law school, I accepted a position at an AMLAW 100 law firm as a litigator. I hated the experience. While the microinequities seemed innocent (e.g., asking me to get the coffee and/or make copies or introducing me by the wrong name to opposing counsel during a conference call), I quickly grew tired of it all. I quit after only 11 months. During my exit interview, the HR manager commented, "And to think of all the money we spent on recruiting..." (Recruiting lawyers, especially from top-tier law schools, is unbelievably expensive!) I absolutely love my new job! Glad to be gone...
The reviewer who wrote of an employee: “Bob did pretty good for an old guy.”
The manager who copied his 12 employees’ self-appraisals ... and submitted them as his own.
Of course they are not alone to blame. What do you if someone like this exists..there is only so much that these people can also take na…
The mother of the 20-something year old that wanted her son’s score raised so that he could get a better raise because “he deserved it.” She offered to come in and show me reference letters from his teachers and former employers, to reinforce her story.
