laugh at yourself...y be different..everyone else is

I desperately have to write something humorous. Life has been so dreary lately that I need to break out of the shackles. It is not only me. Everyone around me seems to be in the same frustrated mindset. The intriguing point is that nothing has changed as far as work pressure or job requirements is concerned….they still remain at the same, unachievable, taxing, frustratingly boring level.

Humor exists in often the most mundane and implausible places. One of my most favorite anecdotes is of the traffic police guy who flagged me down speeding on ECR one late night( ya I often do that…to just escape from the routine). Anyway, I wasn’t the only person speeding that day but was unfortunate enough to be caught that day.

My first question to him was why I was alone caught. I was really frustrated that day and it looked like god had it in for me and was out for some sort of vengeance (only god knows what I did wrong to god…maybe he felt threatened by my presence). The reply that he gave simply astounded me…he said in a very pensive voice “ there are so many fish in the ocean, the fisherman who casts his net doesn’t expect to catch all but has to be satisfied with what falls in his net…same way although I want to catch all the speed demons, I have to be satisfied with catching just you. Now that you are caught you are fried….i mean you have to pay the fine…” what do I reply to such a statement.
