undelivered messages
missed dates
forgotten anniversaries
life has been tough
hours of a day just not enough
i manage to wade past
pain that is to ever last
putting my body and mind
through acts, both long and unkind
focusing on job and career
praying that the end is near
have worked too much and too hard
to let it all go apart
forgetting all those around me
telling them i have just been busy
my struggle is mine alone
not for the friend i known
to share with them is not so easy
just makes me feel so needy
i have to survive by myself
thats my basic ego itself
