Not a great post

It has been the most infuriating weekend ever. First of all I worked this Saturday. I thought it would be just a few hours in and can scoot for the rest of the day. Till the time I stepped into office I thought it was going to be a day for just swiping your card in and leave in some time. But the minute I entered everything changed.

An email that I was expecting never turned up. A client had to do nothing but sign his name on the contract but kept delaying the entire process. (the probability of closure percentage kept dancing from 50 to 75 to 95 and now back to 50). The agony of waiting for a closure is the worst thing in the world.(even worse than waiting for your turn in an overcrowded loo with a full bladder…trust me…I have experienced both)

The day had nothing specific happening in it. Then too, you know there are days when you get pissed off at nothing. This was just like that. I was searching for reasons to get pissed off.

Then god gave me one. CSK lost the match. Hmmm big disappointment. Really was hoping that the guys in yellow lift the cup but that wasn’t to be. They fizzled out in the most important match of the series.

That was Saturday. Sunday was no different. I went book shopping and for the first time in Landmark was in a dilemma. There were absolutely zero titles that intrigued me enough to buy. What a total waste. Finally bought illustrated comics of yore that I had once upon a time relished as a kid. I didn’t check the price tag till I reached the checkout counter. Rs 1100 !!! . Too costly an indulgence for childhood memories. ( have to hit my dad with the bill…My evergreen ATM).

The Monday hasn’t started out well either. I just got a reply from the client who has further delayed the process to another week. Damn….i may have to book my tickets to SA to kick his ass into action.. so another week starts. Another week of my life gone. Will I have something interesting to say? I don’t know. At least for the sake of people who have patiently read through this diatribe I hope my next post has some smiles in it.
