La La La...Me at 100

Yeah...i have done it...100 ...the magical number...100th post..i know i gave out an earlier message stating that i am on my 99th.. but that was a miscalculation on my part...so here it is..my 100th post.

As always , as anybody would want to, i want to make this post a special one...i mean if you ask me, completing 100 itself is a big thing for a lazy bum like me...but my followers(specifically one) have been behind me and goading me to get on with it for some time now. Writing a post is easy..trying to make it special is really tough.

I didnt know how to make this special...i thought maybe i shall announce a gift for the first five comments( at least that would encourage my "shy" readers to leave their comments...) but then if they didnt want to get a bad name by having to admit they read the crap that comes out in the first place, this idea wouldnt click.

Then i thought i shall do a special recording of a song that i wrote long back and post the audio...i dropped this idea too considering the safety and the delicateness of their eardrums( iam so considerate, you see)

I ran through various topics that i can write about...my appraisal cycle at office, inner team dynamics, the latest gossip that me and my team gab about, a poem, a review....so many thoughts, all rambled and scrambled and finally passed over because it wasnt "special" enough. That's when i thought i shall do a "thank you" post, thanking all those who have been responsible for the way i have turned out( YES, you are all to blame...all of you people...your thoughts and actions have resulted in me being what i am )...so here it goes.

There is no ranking or priority attached to the people i am thanking..all of you are equally and some more than equally responsible and for that i am thankful.

My Dad : for opening up the world of books to me when i was still a pre-teen...the countless hours of shopping at all the major book shops in town...taught me my first important lesson...its not bad to be in credit when what you are purchasing are books..Dad, i just bought a couple of books from Amazon and charged it to your credit card...love you..

My primary school librarian : When all my classmates were reading Nancy Drews and Hardy boys and whatever juvenile stuff was hep at that time, i thank her for opening up the senior library for me and to a world of john grisham and jeffrey archers which were way beyond my years atleast chronologically.

My Neighbourhood library : For allowing me to crawl in and pick up whatever books i wanted on credit and very often unreturned... i dont remember how many hours i would have spent in the dark confines reading a couple of Archies before taking home 5 or 6 more..Sadly they had to close down, because of dwindling stock (err..i might have been more than partially responsible for that)

Landmark and Higginbothams : For providing me endless hours of browsing(and reading pleasure) and more recently for providing small alcoves and ottomans for me to sit and finish a book

My Mom and Sister: i peg them together because both of them are responsible in different ways to waylay my books and upturn my living area(as small as it already is)...on a more serious note, you people were my backbone..you picked up after me when i was lazing around and more often than usual you people pushed me to the books that offered solace..lol

Viji : for reading through my blog, helping me, goading me, pushing me to write more, criticizing me, scolding me , insulting me, literally spitting on me to get of my lazy bum and write more...you have been instrumental in making this blog be as active as it could ever be ( so guys and girls, now you know who is responsible for all these ramblings to ever grace the virtual world, so all insults, brickbats, stones can be directed towards her...and all gifts, flowers, monetary remunerations can be directed to me)

For my friends ( too many to list down...sorry about the grouping) : for all the incidents, for all the fun and the sad moments, for having suffered me and my stupidity( and vice-versa, for allowing me the strength to endure all your stupidity)... for inspiring me for some of the articles in my blog..for reading through my blog (now you know what you need to do , follow my blog and you are my friend, lol )

and finally for Blogger for not closing down my blog terming it as a splog ( spam blog ) and accepting the crappy content in it...

Plenty more coming up ppl....want to leave this with one of my fav jokes of S V Sekar...

" Maama, TV la sachin nooru adichitu aadikitu irukkaru " ( maama, In TV they are showing Sachin playing (adikitu) after hitting hundred )

S V Sekar pointing to a drunkard " Athu enna periya vishayam, inga orutharu Ai nooru adichitu aadama nikraru "( what is big about that, look at this guy, he has hit 500 ml but not shaking(aadama) )

so long foks...the ramblings continue...
